Ternion has launched its latest version of FLAMES, V.9.1.
Ternion Corporation’s FLAMES is a family of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software products that address all aspects of constructive simulation development and use. These include the creation of customised scenarios, the execution, visualisation, and analysis, as well as interfaces to live, virtual, and constructive systems.
In late March, the company released the latest version of the product, v.9.1, which comes with lower licencing costs. This version features eight separately priced products that include; Core Development, 3D Option, Multithreaded Execution Option, Analysis Option, Interactive Simulation Option, DIS Option, HLA Option and Checkpoint/Restart Option.
The company says that, by dividing the Development Suite into separate options, Version 9.1 allows customers to purchase only the options that they need. Those who do not need all the power of every option can now develop FLAMES-based applications with lower licensing and maintenance fees. Runtime licences to FLAMES are still available for free.
“We created this new version to make FLAMES more affordable for organisations with specialised simulation requirements,” says Barlow Blake, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ternion Corporation. “Particularly, we wanted to reduce development licensing costs for our analysis customers, who often don’t need to purchase the same capabilities as those using FLAMES for training applications.”
Another cost benefit associated with the new version is that Windows development licenses can be 32-bit, 64-bit, or both - at no additional cost.
